The staff there is so welcoming and accommodating... they know my cats by name and know me when I walk in. They explain everything and work with you as best they can!!! We received a list of recommended procedures but they never push anything on us... they explain what has to get done and let us decide when we can fit in the other procedures. They gave us a tour of their facility and that made me comfortable about leaving my kittens with them! Right from the start they made me feel like my pets were their life... they call to check up on them after they have work done and then call just to see how they are doing! No question goes unanswered!!! I highly recommend this vet!!! We are happy with our decision.
At the follow up appointment he explained it could be a dead tooth which isn’t very harmful or it could be periodontal disease but regardless it needed to be removed ASAP. I asked for a quote on the procedure and was very sticker shocked when they quoted me $1600 to have the one tooth removed. I had done a little research online and this seemed pricey, so we decided not to book the surgery yet and discuss it later.
This was our first visit after moving to the area. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and seem to love what they do. They took time to explain what would occur during our visit as well as a tour of the facilities. I would recommend them to anyone in need of services for Thier pet and look forward to working with them for the well being of our dog.
Very Pleased! Everyone from the desk to the Dr. was very helpful and treated my dog and I with respect. Highly recommend!
I am so glad we got a second opinion and would highly recommend if you do go to Mt Pocono Animal Hospital and something seems off you get a second opinion too. I will definitely be looking elsewhere for a new Vet in the Poconos.
We called the vet back in Pittsburgh where we have taken the dog since she was a puppy and they were also very surprised by the pricing and suggested we bring her back there over the holidays when we would be back in the area. Her appointment in Pittsburgh was today and $185 later she has a squeaky clean mouth, and the tooth in question ended up falling out while they were doing the cleaning. The vet said it would have most likely fallen out naturally anyway and there was no infection or disease so there was no reason for me to worry for the last month. Dr. Valese also insisted we get blood work done before he would even consider doing the surgery which we found out today was also not necessary because of our dogs young age.
We recently moved to the area from Pittsburgh, so when our 4 year old dog needed her annual vet check we saw good reviews online for Mt. Pocono Animal Hospital so we decided to give them a try.
Dr. V is a nice guy and a good vet. The staff gets to know you and they like the pets. I brought my dog here for a special operation he needed on a tooth, and he got good surgical care, and good care and check-ups after it. I would send friends here for dental issues, we came over an hour from New Jersey to see Dr. V. for this, he is not our regular vet.
At the physical Dr. Valese noticed a bad tooth in the back of our pups mouth. He said we had to make another appointment to have a consultation on the tooth as that was not part of the physical, but it was likely periodontal disease and we had to get it taken care of ASAP or it could turn into a life threatening condition. After this appointment I was worried sick until we could make the follow up appointment because I thought my dog was in pain or in danger.
